No more teardown's in Beverly Hills? City establishes Cultural Heritage Commission and approves a new rule that "Architecturally Significant Homes" older than 45 years cannot be torn down. This will preserve the beautiful architecture that remains in the City of Beverly Hills from noted architects such as Wallace Neff, Paul Williams, Neutra, John Elgin Wolff and many others. This ordinance will effect about 200 homes here in the city of Beverly Hills and will have an effect on property values in the area.

  • @rocksinger45 Thanks, I agree, maybe LA will follow suit! I know you always see me in my casual clothes at the Farmers Market LOL!

  • Nice suit CC, I think this will have little or no effect on the houses built in the City of LA/Bel Air which is really sad because of the beautiful houses their. Whats needed is to have someone go to the LA City Council and have them take notice of what Beverly Hills has done.

  • @2003SCT This is specifically for the City of Beverly Hills, I don't necessarily see this spilling over into the LA city outside of Beverly Hills.

  • Well this is good to hear. The knee-jerk reaction of some buyers to level classic architecture is always surprising to me. Will this affect Bel Air, Holmby Hills etc.? Do you see them following suit or is this relegated to Beverly Hills proper?
