I'm not saying I approve of the fact that they actually hurt the camel,just explaining why he did it.

And it isn't any more right to hurt someone(physically or psychologically) for the sake of a film(and don't tell me it never happened),but it still happen.

Yes he really punched it, they filmed parts of the movie in Spain where the AHA had no way of stopping these sorts of acts from entering the film. The dog kicking in the street was real. The horses tripping was also real and they used trip wires, one horse even hit a few spikes that it was intended to tumble over.

I've always wondered this. Movies back then weren't as babysat as they are today, so it wouldn't surprise me if he really punched it. I hope I'm wrong.
