Russ Taff (born November 11, 1953) is an American gospel singer who is originally from Farmersville, California.

His contemporary Christian music is pop-rock, often with traditional Southern Gospel influences, and on his 1995 album,
a contemporary country music bent. His initial work was as the lead singer for The Imperials. One of his best-known
performances is the song "Praise The Lord". He has also been a member of the Gaither Vocal Band, and toured with Bill Gaither
in the Homecoming series. Russ Taff as a soloist, is known for the 1980s anthem "We Will Stand".

Taff and his wife, Tori, have two daughters: Maddie Rose and Charlotte.

I remember watching this LIVE over the Word of Faith World Outreach Satellite Network...it was at Word of Faith church in Dallas, Texas....awesome concert, brings back a lot of memories...the next concert after that was Whiteheart "Live"...

Russ wrote this one and there's a very subtle musical thing about it that makes it pure genius that my guitar instructor pointed out to me. The verses, which are all about struggle, are all minor chords(several variations on Am and D9), which emphasize the struggle, but the chorus shifts the key to all major chords (A E G D), which have a "happier" sound since of course, "if God is for me, who can be against me?". Simply beautiful, and awesome singing to boot.

This is my favorite Taff/Imperials song. I really feel the peace of God everytime I hear it. I wish I could find the tab for it.

My all time favorite album is from the early 80's Russ Taff was with the Imperials.  It's called "Priority". Yes, I still have it on vinyl. If you like this song I recommend "Praise The Lord" and "Trumpet Of Jesus" too. I wish I could find "Pieces" on You Tube. Many blessings to each of you in 2011 and always.
