@chopsie01 check out /Because_the_Night on wikipedia and you will see that Bruce wrote the song with Patti Smith and her band made it famous waaaaaay before 10,000 Maniacs, whose version I have never heard...

for a song made famous by 10,000 maniacs, its noteworthy that the e street band does a better version with just one; what lofgren manages to do with that guitar is literally jaw dropping.

Anyone still not convinced check out "REM country feedback with Nils Lofgren " on this site. Solo begins about 5.00. Peter Garrett watches Nils and the audience goes wild. Many just discovering Nils in the last decade or so but he has been doing it since he dropped out of high school and landed on Neil Young's After the Gold Rush, playing piano on that album at 17.

Sunbeam I love J. Mascis and Dinosaur Jr. Feel the Pain is phenomenal. If he can do it for forty years and be entwined into the inner fabric of rock, fantastic. Mascus is great but Nils has the pedigree and longevity of iconic, jaw-dropping performances.
