Tornado was built so that it could use all the modern rolling stock the second loco was a condition for running on the rail system until Tornado had been certified.

I've discovered that Youtube needs a video of a particular dimension for a perfect display. One which is not always the natural size produced directly by camcorders.Video in that case needs to be reprocessed to fit.

sorry, i beg your pardon, i work at the railway that was taken at
all coaches apart from a few not in traffic can not provide Electric train heat,
they are standard vac braked coaches which are only able to be steam heated, all electric train heat has been chopped out from this stock,
they are very much steam era coaches, the coaches draw power from the batteries below which are charged from a dynamo, the heat is steam heat, the diesel was pure dead weight

No it isnt, the diesil is there beceuse the train itself is not made up of steam coaches, thses are modern repained intercity coaches that have not got the capabilities to generate electricety for lights and heating from a steam locomotive, the diesil is there because it has the modern capabilities to provide the train with power.

Thank you very much for your explainations. Now I´ve got it.

the reason it cant run round is because the length of the train is too much for leicester north,
the station its self can accomidate 9 coaches, to achive the weight we wanted the only way was to use more than 9 coaches and a diesel, the end of the run round loop weas blocked by the train trailing the points

Ah, your last reply was what I wanted to know.
Thanks for the information.
I´m afraid, the last remains of my school-Enlish aren´t good enought to understand your first longer reply.
But I´ll give it a try:
Why wouldn´t the locomotive be able to run round at Leicester North?
Means the formulation "run round" something about the smooth running and working of the Tornado?
Quick Question:
Why is there a locomotive at the end of the train? Is the train pulled by steam and pushed by diesel simultaneously?

the train was pulled in 1 direction by tornado, and dragged back to loughborough by the diesel due to the station at leicester being too short to run tornado round

Great video! May I ask what the trick is to get a full widescreen display on Youtube? My widescreen uploads are still being squeesed inwards from the sides.
