I saw this crop duster spraying the fields near my house, so I decided to grab the camera and take a look. He sure was making it look easy. I apologize for the bit of dirt on my lens. Hopefully you still find it interesting. Thanks for watching!

  • Very good!

  • @Leonard1589 Thanks for watching!

  • Do you have breathing or Asthma problems after they spray near your house? They do this very close ot my house and I can't sleep for 2 days because I can't breathe comfortably afterwards. I can't believe farmers have the right to do this next to residential neighborhoods.

  • @scott231us I have to admit that I was worried about how healthy it was for me to be so close. I'm sure that the spray can be rough on some people. They probably should use spray trucks when close to residential areas, so the there is less carried through the air. Though, I honestly don't know enough about it to really have an informed opinion.

  • Not much room for error !

  • @cisjohn2616 Very true, it definitely takes guts. Thanks for watching!

  • @scott231us Cotton defoliant after it is applied leaves a strong odor, but the active ingredients in the chemicals are on the crops themselves. It's what removes the leaves before harvest to prevent the cotton from being trashy. So, no worries about being poisoned, just sucks having to smell that stinking mess and can cause stuffiness of the nose. I just wanted to shed some light on agriculture and aerial spraying. Take care.

  • @scott231us Depends on what chemicals they are spraying. Cotton defoliant chemicals has a strong odor to it. When harvest season is taking place here, you can smell it everywhere using ground application equipment or planes. When using airplanes, Ag operators are required to have a "congested" plan of action submitted to the FAA and it approved before operating over congested areas to ensure the safety of the residents. GOOD Ag pilots allow for wind and correct chemical drift.

  • That's pretty cool. What a job to have. Zipping around dusting crops.

  • this allways reminds me of the scene from north by northwest

  • Now that would be fun!
