EP's 100th YouTube clip - the Guttersluts 1991 Spinal Tap medley at Cactus Club

December 6, 1991 was a magical day in my universe. I did a video shoot with Viv Savage of Spinal Tap for the H.E.A.R. organization. Working with my pal Kathy Peck, we created a little public service announcement about protecting one's ears from loud sounds.

That very night, one of my favorite local bands, the Guttersluts did a performance at the Cactus Club in San Jose, California. Along with an assortment of original songs, they actually did a medley of Spinal Tap songs "Gimme Some Money," "Hell Hole" and "Heavy Duty." I was loving every minute of it....

This video was shot with a rather bulky 3/4 umatic camera package that I owned at the time, using 20 minute tapes each the size of a standard hardback novel. The audio was less-than ideal, as it was captured by the camera microphone, and I was pretty much a one-man production team. Up until now, this footage hadn't been seen by ANYONE!

So today, Im sharing this rare footage with the world, and it also happens to be my 100th YouTube clip. Feel free to crack open up the champagne if you have any..

After 15 years or so of hibernation, the Guttersluts actually reunited for a big Marsugi's reunion a few weeks ago. I actually shot footage of that show as well so just give me time and Ill get around to it, OK?
