This is the third installment of the New Hampshire Remembered series produced by Fritz Wetherbe and NH Public Television back in the late 1990's. Its a look back at things and places that arent there anymore in New Hampshire. It includes old film footage and interviews with people who know what it was like "back then".This segment is about the Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament. Enjoy!

  • Thanks for the memories. As a young boy in the fifties, I attended a few of those Golden Glove events at the Armory. If my memory serves me right, I believe Bobby Rivard fought a rather chubby guy from Concord, NH named Cliff Savoy. Body punches to Cliff's gut didn't seem to faze him in the least. Joey Francis was another local popular fighter at that time as well.
