  • The eTrex lets you store waypoints and give them custom names like "stand" or "truck". To go to a waypoint, you just select it from a list and follow the arrow or set your compass for the bearing that it gives you and follow that. I prefer to use a compass, but that's just me.

  • It is made by Jansport and I got it at REI several years ago. I looked at the Jansport website and it doesn't look like they make it any more.

  • I was a trucker and my truck was flipped over by a tornado I was using a garmin hand held gps clonnected to the laptop. The garmin fell out the window when the tornado flipped the truck the wrecker driver dropped the truck on that GPS 20 to 30 times he had a time trying to up right the truck it pounded that gps into the ground. I went out to the site saw a wire sticking out the ground pulled it up had to dig the gps was about 1.5 ft under the surface. I later powered up the unit it worked.

  • I just looked this up on your tube b/c This is the cheapest garmin on newegg.

I'm fricken horrible in the woods as far as directions. I want to be able to mapoints in the woods like "tree stand" and be albe to get back and forth to my car. ALso for example, I got two deer last year, and I have no idea what tree I was in. I wish I had them mapped so i would know were I was. Will this unit help me with my problems???

  • Where did you get your pouch / case from, what make is it?
