@MrDanielius ...but Wilno was more Polish than Lithuanian in those days, plus he was born near Warsaw from polish mother and lithuanian father with polish last name, and considered himself as Polish...

that's what is called music without borders. you just need to listen and feel it..simply magnificent!
-
@estorne66 'Lithuanians with polish names' is a proof that most 'lithuanians' are actually belorussian.
-
@yessroman Agree with you.
And I do not like all this politically oriented discussion here.
Just listen good music and enjoy. This is my credo.

@SrdjanLimich Correct - no borders, but soul, originating from the heart of the composer, and his heart came from the soil of his country.

Pan Oginski was a European just like Beethoven. The old Commonwealth was a medieval constitutional monarchy with an elected king and a parliament of landowners and it was very cosmopolitan. Its official legal and constitutional language was New Latin (Latina Nova). In medieval times Latin was the lingua franca of Europe and was understood by educated people from Lisbon to Moscow. Ethnic nationalism did not arrive in central Europe until long after he died. Just enjoy the music!

Oginski was lituanian, he lived at Vilnius and near Rietavas.

guys, how about he was Belarusian!
Definetly he has less Polish in him than anything else!
But it is hard to belive but definetly they didn;t have identity like belarussian, lithuanian or polish back than it was GDL and Rech Pospolita! so I think it is hard and no use to argue!

@discouniverse I pity u and your obsesson with farting, do you often suffer from winds?
But seriously, such twisted and sickheaded people like yourself should be locked in a mental asylum so they don't start any massacre like the one in Norway. You are SICK, are you aware of that?
Guys, I don't care who is Oginsky in nationality. I really like and enjoy his music. And please, stop this useless discussion. Music has no borders, neither Polish, nor Lithuanian.

Michal Kazimierz Oginski: Polish composer, Lithuanian Treasurer, Russian Senator. Born to Lithuanian father (albeit of Polish last name) and Polish mother, he worked for Polish government, was a Polish diplomat in Netherlands and France, fought under Kosciusko during Polish uprising, supported Polish independence, and wrote the ultimate Polish music - the Polonaise. Learn your history, folks...
