@jeremydray89 When under pressure people tend to make mistakes. In the perfect world the suby would kill the accord. NOT in this video, NOT on this road, and NOT with that driver! :)

I've actually raced in these kinds of situations with an old Subaru I used to have years ago, so I know firsthand what a tuned car looks like when it performs :)

That STi has about 300lbs on that Accord. Wanna' know how I know? Even with a V6, those Accords don't exceed 3000lbs. A 4 cylinder Accord w/auto is 2800lbs. Full suspension w/tune would make an Accord like that a monster, even w/FWD. Let's not get on the powerbands of both engines, which the Accord also has going for it. That Accord isn't turbo. Its a 3.0 V6 N/A w/VTEC so it doesn't have the lag that the Subaru does here. If you really think about the logistics, that Subaru never had a chance

@DOHCEJ22E1 Ur right bout the STI not having a CHANCE. But ur WRONG bout the weight on the car. UNLESS u think Honda doesn't know how to weigh their cars?? Cause I know what the car weighs, it says on the car itself!! I also disagree with you on not comparing the engines. The STI pushes a lot more torque than the Accord at lower RPM's so technically the STI is still a better car but the DRIVER still made for the difference...

I work on these Accords all the time.
Their weight varies from model to model.
My Legacy GT Limited is about 100lbs heavier than a Canadian Accord SE @ 3000.
The STi makes more TQ because it has more power but I'm talking about the powerbands of both engines, not the level of power. The J30 has a more linear band plus it's SOHC = low end pull.
Btw, that STi (stock) is about 3300lbs so I KNOW it's at a disadvantage when it comes to weight due to the AWD system & extra chassis/frame bracing.

@DOHCEJ22E1 So NOW what you’re saying is that the Accord is lighter than the STI that's why it was at a disadvantage?? Even if on the Chassis of the Accord states that the car weighs 4200+ pounds?? Am I missing something?? I'm sure that the weight varies by model. I'm sure the weight varies by car even if it is the same model!! I'm glad you have put more thought into this than most people. But AGAIN your comparison is strictly vehicle. As to my initial comparison was on DRIVER!

No offense but you're probably looking at gross vehicle weight capacity.
The actual weight is 1200lbs lighter, at least, give or take.
4200 is about the weight of a luxury car or a small truck/van.
The drivers do have a lot to do with it but the Accord was just better prepped for this run & as a car, it had the advantage.
The Accord is most likely to beat the STi due to being tuned on top of having a good driver.
That's what I was getting at.

@DOHCEJ22E1 Glad you took the time to see that the car was better prepped for the run and so was the driver. I'm not so sure everyone else agrees with you though. Everybody that has RAN their mouth has shown nothing but that they are couch racer that just say the same thing the person before them. It has a lot of dislikes and negative feedback because people assume that if it goes fast STRAIGHT it goes fast anywhere!! Clearly not the case. Thanks for the comments and watching.
