The battle system is 100% evented, including the HUD gradient bars.
(The bad quality and lag is due to the recording process, which makes the arrows barely visible in the video. :x But it's clear without that lag in actual play.)
The first mini-boss battle, located in the middle of Chapter III. Not a hard fight, since it's just one single target. The main thing is to figure out what he does, which becomes very apparent after a bit.
1. When he is underground, KEEP MOVING.
2. When he is underground, KEEP MOVING.
3. After phase 2 when he comes out of the hole again, as he will travel via underground periodically, place a trap and stand ontop of it. That way when he emerges on you, he'll be instantly trapped.
4. Try to nuke him down fast, because if you don't he will repeat phase two of attacking via underground and you will suffer the horrible consequence of waiting impatiently for him to re-emerge. :(
(P.S. I got owned, Reiv was knocked out at the end. :x Was focusing too hard to nuke him because he was about to submerge again.)
