Played on an emulator. No savestates or slowdown used. Single segment run played on Normal difficulty. Final time from gaining control to last hit on the final boss is 32:53.

This was a very fun game to run. It has so many different types of gameplay packed into it and even after putting lots of time into it the past several weeks the humor about it never got old. This run is far from perfect, but does showcase some interesting and difficult tricks. I'm very happy with this time.

Part 4

For Pete's Sake: Definitely the level that took the most practice. One mistake here usually means the run is over. A few things about the basic mechanics of the level:

1. Pete moves faster when he's in the air.

2. Level checkpoints are only triggered when Pete walks over them.

So in the interest of speed, you don't trigger very many checkpoints, so dropping him can be a huge setback. In fact, with the strats used here if I screw up before the first set of health power ups I'm likely going back to the beginning. While I tried to stay aggressive as much as possible, there are few places where I slow down and play it safe, and there is one trick I didn't bother with in the interest of safety. It's possible to whip Pete over the two cranes, but getting him safely by the cement mixers after the first one and the huge gap after the second is very tricky.

That said, I'm pretty happy with how this level went, there were a few small mistakes and a couple close calls, but made it through well enough. Also note the intentional drop to skip the third meteor shower.

Andy Asteroids 6: Tough stage, and again there's no way to stop Psycrow from grabbing what he does at the start. Once he's out of the way it's just some tight dodging.

Intestinal Distress: Ah, the Genesis exclusive. While I had to pause a few times this is one of the cleaner runs I've gotten through this level. Really not too much to comment on here, level went pretty well and the boss is fairly easy if you know his pattern.

Andy Asteroids 7: Another tough one (but would you expect anything less from the last one). Psycrow at least gets out of the way early, but from there it lots of tight squeezes.

  • .... 0.0 are you fucking serious? ridiculous! fuck this level man. for pete sake, look at the size of the dog, why can;t i just carry him across the level.

doing a speedrun, or a playthrough without dying is ridiculous with snot a problem, that gay robot chicken and this useless fucking dog!

going to take a lot of playing to perfect these!!
