Canadian Soldier Returns Home along the Highway of Heroes- Corporal Martin Dube

The first part of this video is Canadian Press footage of the ramp ceremony in Afghanistan for Corporal Martin Dubé was who was killed while serving as part of Joint Task Force Headquarters near the Panjwayi District, twenty kilometres southwest of Kandahar City at about 12:30 p.m. Kandahar time on June 14, 2009. Corporal Dubé was dismantling an improvised explosive device.




The second part of this video was taken at the Progress Road overpass in Scarborough and shows Corporal Dubé being escourted by police along the Highway of Heroes on June 17, 2009 at about 4:35 p.m. EST. I am sorry for the part when the video shakes. The family members of Corporal Dubé were waving from their vehicles and I started waving back. It was very emotional and despite the rain, numerous Canadians showed up to pay their final respects to this brave Canadian soldier.

Corporal Dubé was based at CFB Valcartier and will be missed, but not forgotten.

I wished I lived closer so I could be on the bridge, too. But, I do pay respects in my own private way.
