1. is wifi enabled?

2. are you within range of a wireless network?

OH...wait...is your phone number stored on your SIM card? see i have a CINGULAR SIM card so could I use that if I bought an Iphone or do I need to do this unlocking thing to do it. cause technically cingular IS AT&T? what do you think?

yes your phone number is stored on your SIM card and the Cingualr SIM should automatically work without using SIMUnlock but i think you will have to change your service in some way.

I don't get what "unlocking" your Iphone does. please explain

Unlocking simply makes it so that your iPhone can be used on any SIM card wireless network. Iphones were originally made to only work with AT&T.

hey i know my iphone is 1.1.1 firmware but when i click install app the website it just stays there it it says its loading but it doesnt go anywhere. ive tried it more than once and it keep happening. am i supposed to wait a long time?
