Puccinis Tosca will be the first performance in this season's The Met: Live in HD. See this opera presented live for only one day on Saturday, October 10, 2009, 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT in select movie theatres.

If you can't make the live performance, an encore presentation will be exhibited in select movie theatres on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 6:30 PM in all time zones.

I wish the Metropolitan Opera could have the quality of singers it had in the past, horrible new productions, and "divas" singing italian repertoire as if they were singing Brahms! or Les Miserables, no fire, no passion, all singing backwards instead of singing in the mask. where did Bel canto go? every day is closer to Broadway, the italian way of singing, is gone!. This Tosca is no Tosca at all. Terrible!.

What a great initiative share these fantastic opera productions with the rest of the world by transmitting live to cinemas everywhere! It was thrilling to see Tosca, Aida and, yesterday, Turandot and impressive to get a look back stage. Thank you so much!
