Neuwirth belongs in the chorus/ensemble, she's not good enough for the lead. She's totally outclassed here by Reinking and was by Karen Ziemba in a PBS special doing this number.

@marycoggins It seems that the choreography might have been designed for just such an eventuality (since it was very likely to occur) - the much wilder arm flailing side to side would allow a good dancer to cover a bobble up without notice.

Did you ever notice that at 2:17, when Ann Reinking steps backwards, she steps on Bebe Neuwirth's foot? They both cover it really well, so much so that for all of the countless times that I've watched this clip, I just noticed it for the first time today!
