In this video, you can watch Karen Bates of Apple Farm, Mendocino County, CA; share her family's pumpkin pie recipe for Thanksgiving.

To make the pie recipe, you can use either canned or real pumpkin. Take two cups of flour, salt, butter, cold water, and mix. Using your bare hands, mold this mixture into a pie crust disc. Rub more flour on it and keep it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to firm it up for a delicious recipe for Thanksgiving.

To make the pumpkin pie filling, blend some pumpkin. Break some eggs in a bowl and whisk them. Add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt. Whisk this mixture again. Add the pumpkin and cream to this bowl. Next, take the crust and roll it out. Line a bowl with the crust. Pour the filling over the crust. Place it in the oven and let it cook. Your scrumptious pie recipe is ready! Bring it to room temperature and serve.

  • First time I made pumpkin pie (which was yesterday), it turned out beautifully. The crust looks delicious and it didnt burn at all. :) Very happy on the way it turned out. On this recipe, I used 1/4 tsp of ginger instead, a little bit of vanilla, and 1 1/4 cups of sugar (my boys like it on the sweet side. lol) Thanks for the recipe!

  • @beautifulgreen93 I have to 'cause there is no canned pumpkin in Portugal. But then again Portugal sucks 'cause this country only imports s*** instead of good stuff like canned pumpkin, corn syrup, candy melts, shortening and a lot of other stuff I would love to have around!
