This is the "before" sound of this Squier Affinity model bass. Upcoming changes include pickups, bridge, pots, EQ & strings. Will it be worth the time & money or sound & feel below-grade to the next model up the line? Will it be a lifelong partner fit for a musical king or an old Honda in Corvette boots? a glorified cheese-cutting board?

Please leave a comment, ask question or rate it (5 stars is fine). Hopefully as we artists dialog, manufacturers will listen - the good ones do.

Part of "Great guitars for under $200 bucks," a series reviewing guitars & basses costing $150-$350, that aren't crappy. No more stank gear! If we're cutting trees, make it worth it.

  • LOL black metal. Nice one, when I first mentioned black metal to my dad he thought it was black people's version of metal.

  • @GeorgeyBoy13 . Yeah it's funny, metal comes from rock, rock from blues, blues from Africans so it's weird how black metal doesn't make sense too! The first rock band i joined in highschool - "blind date" they didn't expect me at all. It went quiet when i entered the rehearsal. The drummer said "...he's black!" I said, i am!! & so is he" (pointing to Hendrix poster). They made me lead guitarist & we were together for years. Funny but true story.

  • Hahaha, your captions are awesome! My brother would love to watch your videos. :)

  • @paapakobe yeah people never think of musicians like Hendrix or even Phil Lynott when they see a black person involved in rock/metal which is kinda sad lol.
