Manic street Preachers used this poem years ago. It was my introduction to Primo Levi, an incredibly resilient man.

  • @eraserhead321 I'm on an old Mac using iMovie from the iLife suite (2007, I think). I've heard lots of good reviews of Final Cut Express, I've been shocked at the cost of Final Cut Pro. I've heard lots of frustrations from users of the Microsoft option, whatever it's called. The new iMovie is not so good either, though. It looks like it doesn't allow editing. You basically import your vid shot on a simple camera, add titles and sound and upload. My 3 most recent vids did that with flipvid

  • @ConsilienceTeacher ok, thanks for the reply. can i ask you what video editing program you used? thinking about taking the plunge into the scary world of you tube..

  • @eraserhead321 Interesting ideas. I'll see if I still have the original file and give your suggestions a shot. I was, as you noticed, trying to pack in a lot of images in a short amount of time. Now I just have to find the time to make those changes when I'm already behind on so many other projects. ... I'll get there but don't hold your breath.

  • I think it'd work better if you uploaded it again with no sound effects in the beackground and just one (or far less) photos. Only black and white ones (possibly just of war graves) would work well in my opinion. Good work though. A very powerful poem of Levi's.

  • I've actually considered taking this down. The sound is not so good: lots of pops; and I was particularly quiet that morning, being careful to not wake my family.

I suppose it's got a bit of a patient zombie voice coming through. "You who've never considered our fate can take your time, because we'll still be dead, and still ready to welcome you to our party."

Cue Oingo Boingo: "It's a Dead Man's Party, Who could ask for more?"

-but that's me. Lit's too subjective for a simple nutshell.

  • Ok, I have to admit that the first time I viewed this, the sound of whoosh as it went over my head was deafening. But upon the now second and third viewing, I think I'm beginning to understand. I'm trying to understand.

(do we still give credit for trying teacher?)
