  • I was lucky enough to attend all Richard's RVW symphony series in 2008 - every performance electrifying. Having said that, the highlight was "Pilgrim" at Sadler's Wells. It was one of the great high points for me in over 40 years of music listening - I have known the work for many years on record, but RVW was right - it does belong on the stage. It was overwhelming, sung, played and conducted by musicians who were so obviously involved in a very special act of creation. Rest in peace, Richard.

  • I can't believe that we have lost him!

The St.Endellion Festival will be very different this year.

  • He will be sadly missed.

  • I wish parts of this (the Pilgrim's Progress) were up on youtube. Performances, practices, interviews. Its such a magnificent piece.
