What a brutal opening! The music suited the opening very well.
Without these sacrifices, Koji wouldn't ever get to Mazinkaiser. It just comes to show that without the sacrifices, then the film would never have a good ending, but all the same, it's still sad when someone dies, even if their sacrifice did help bring peace to the world. Wouldn't you agree?

I think I find this opening epic partly due to the fact that the fights weren't restricted to just Japan like in most anime, but around the world at New York, Egypt, China and Australia... and I THINK that's London at 6:56 because of the 'London Eye' ferris wheel... God, those Mikene bastards are everywhere! D:
