A cajon solo performed in RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. I'm using a a LP Aspire cajon. This is probably one of the cheapest cajons that you can buy, but wow I love the sound of it.

The only microphone here is a Shure Beta (I think) kick drum mic just doing a little bit of sound reinforcement. It is positioned at the bass port on the back of the box. The acoustics of the theater did the rest of the work with the sound.
This solo was part of a larger instrumental set performed as a recital for the RMIT Music Industry Performance Workshop course.

  • thats beautiful. I like the finger technique. Its been in use in some cultures in the east. Look for "Tabla Zakir" on utube. Thanks.
