  • did they even make any hydrogen in the first place

  • Yes we did :) You need the reaction to be quite slow as if it's too fast you'll boil the water. If you're trying to fill a balloon with hydrogen (which is what we were doing) then all you'll do is fill the balloon with steam - which isn't what you want.

  • To make it really loud you need to mix the hydrogen with oxygen. That sets off car alarms.

  • LIGHT IT ON FIRE DAMNIT

  • We did but I had to put the camera down :-)

  • hey, where u get sodium hydroxide from?what shop?

  • In the UK you can get it from Homebase. Just ask for Caustic Soda. It costs about £3.

  • whats the point of making hydrogen? what use is there to it? it is flamable ? yes? and so is petrol i dont get it. The only fun thing there is if if you did it in a plastic bottle and put a cap on it and threw it

  • where do you get pure oxygen? will just air do?

  • man all theses people suck at this

the ballons i make when confined in a tube set off car alarms and deafen me for half an hour

  • Drano contains NaOH. Pure NaOH and perhaps some shred of Al which can easily be separated.
