I understand your point, particularly since I think the so-called history taught in most schools the past 30 years is pure crap, deliberately tilted left by unionized, incompetent teachers and leftist professors. However, it's easier to discover the truth yourself later on if you have some frame of reference, even if it's tilted. And there's always the chance that the dreadful slant will someday even out as new history teachers recognize how they've been duped

I am a historian (amateur) but I have come to the conclusion that history should not be taught. History just seems to split people, it is perverted to suit people's nationalist, economic and other interests and causes more problems by transferring the often corrupted interpretations of the past into the present. The amount of people who can see history objectively is unfortunately very small.

you missed the booming economy & near-zero unemployment it brought. JFK's tax plans were the same ones Reagan did. Cutting capital gains tax meant that when your parents die, the govt stoppped taking a huge chunk of your inheritance, even the family farm. Saved 30 grand in taxes when my mom died.

You like taxes like that? Democrats want to bring it back again so they can piss it away and start shutting down small family farms again.

We may actually agree on something. Even as an atheist I support vouchers and private schools. Public school education (since the 70s, anyhow) is a joke, run by illiterate union scum who teach almost no history, and even that is slanted heavily Left.

The better the education in history, the more inclined to understand the world and therefore vote conservative. At Catholic schools, you LEARN.

And the oil companies are of course far more evil than those honest, upright realtors and lawyers the Clintons helped to screw the savings & loan, and the Federal taxpayer, by conspiring in the Whitewater scam.

Funny how the liberals whine about dead soldiers when they, like Clinton, actually "loathe" the military and only pretend concern for the military when it's politically correct. No soldier believes them.

Their badly-feigned affection for the troops falls pretty flat when they try to explain why the soldiers vote overwhelmingly conservative and pro-Iraq-war.

In private, they agree w/Kerry about the troops.

Clinton is the biggest laughingstock of modern Presidents, right after Carter, and the only way he can list any accomplishments at all is by couning those jammed up his ass by a Rep. majority -- which he created by losing both Houses, first time since the 30s or 40s. Only political amateurs think otherwise.

His "legacy," to his dismay, is to be the butt of dirty jokes 'til the end of time. Fitting.
