Salcey Forest near Northampton is one of the last great, green spaces to chill out and wander. The Tree Top Walk is a must. Confuses the squirrels though. They think, 'How the hell did you get up here?!'

  • It's Boo! How are you doing, Rob?

  • @TeenTwinkTween Hi Justin! I'm plodding along thanks. Still having breathing problems, but not as bad as I was, so I'm hopeful. More tests to do. The Consultant just sat looking confused much of the time. I think I have to agree with your dad!

  • Id never see my dog again if i let her off the leed somewhere like that, she's a beagle.

  • @TheLunarmonkey It's a shame when dogs can't run free, but I understand your frustration. I bought a collar from Amazon with a remote control. It sends a signal to the dog in the form of a loud beep, a vibration, or a mild electric shock. Backed up by commands, the dog soon toes the line when called. Usually, the beep is enough. I've only used it in familiar parks with Boo when he's being a pain. In new places, he never strays far anyway, so we're lucky.

  • It all looks quite idyllic... The important thing is that you enjoyed your time there.

  • @fehquig Thanks Andy. It's always enjoyable when it's a nice day, eh? :-)

  • @tjm7757 I hope you do. Away from the towns and cities, we have some great open spaces and beaches to visit.

  • @Perroquet51 It's a great place to wander, Marc. The Treetop Walk was added by the Forestry Commission a couple of years ago. It doesn't actually lead anywhere except to a viewing platform. It just gradually rises from the forest floor until you find yourself rubbing shoulders with the squirrels! :-)

  • @imnotsure14able He always starts off totally black and white, but ends up half brown in mud!

    :-)
