“This is the text of the Amendment: 'The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.'

It is clear on the face of this text that it does not purport to confer power to levy income taxes in a generic sense,***AN AUTHORITY ALREADY POSSESSED AND NEVER QUESTIONED.*** “

    Brushaber v. UPRR Company

  • @RetSquid , lol.....so you really do get paid for this nonsense...lol. Btw......Title 26 doesnt overide the constitution........nice try though.

  • You would think that, if this were the actual _law_ that there would e no question.

In fact, that because the way that the Title and subtitles are actually defined the tax that you copy/paste is law, isn't required by the majority of the American Citizens, living and working within America.

  • So here it is: Title 26

Sections 1, 61, and 63 impose the tax,

Section 6012 requires you to file a tax return if you have income of more than the exemption amount, and

Section 6151 requires you to pay the tax at the time and place fixed for the filing of your return.
