  • Looks like he dumped you already for fellow Aussie Martinez. You know he does this all the time, wouldn't take it personally.

  • @TheBallbag2000 Not sure that you've got it all straight.. I put Elk on to Martin and his videos. Talk to them both about the work they're doing. I also introduced Elk to Geoff Mangum and will continue to ferret out what people and information I think will be of value to him.

  • What would be so wrong with todays PGA stars playing this equipment ?

We could bring back some old great courses and some sanity to the equipment issues.

  • @dale47 You have a point.... and to be honest it was a lot of fun. It felt more like a game with the old sticks.

  • Elk just warming up.

  • Or perhaps just toying with me :)

  • Mike, I don't see too many people celebrating the great traditions of golf like you and Steve Elkington. These videos are fantastic as well as your golf. Makes me want to play Hickory. Would love to see you guys do something similar sometime with 1980s Persimmon and blades. Great stuff!

  • quick question Sevam1, i have a set of old clubs in my garage, wooden shaft and stuff :D...well i was wondering if it was safe to try and play with them or will they break with modern golf balls?

  • Hi Sevam, I couldn't help but drop a quick comment in. I've been working on my swing for about 18 months on and off and have been having a lot of trouble inconsistencies in most aspects of it to be honest. I seem to get the feeling of something correct here and there and struggle to put my finger on it. Or fail to recognize what is actually happening. After watching this video and practicing what you are explaining with the pressure in my feet, everything seems to be falling into line naturally.

  • mmm...elk giving the needle over the last putt

  • Guys, that was so fun to watch, seriously. It's hilarious the way you guys interact.

  • Club Primer (from Wikipedia): Cleek: 2 Iron; Mid Mashie: 3 Iron; Mashie Iron: 4 Iron; Mashie: 5 Iron; Spade Mashie: 6 Iron; Mashie Niblick: 7 Iron; Pitching Niblick: 8 Iron; Niblick: 9 Iron; Jigger: Very low lofted iron, shortened shaft
  • What are you doing to move the club Mike? (first move and then onward) Mostly what I mean is, what do you INTEND to do? ("swing key" of sorts)

You "turn your back to the target"? (everyone does in a "full swing" but do you often think about it just as is) Turn left shoulder under the chin? Turn right shoulder? Take it back with both hands? Etc.

Does this carry on to the ds? (again, what are you actively doing?)

What "leads" your bs and ds?

    Thanks man.

    -Paul from Thunda Bay

  • @sevam1 one secret spinner to the other, to the other, to the other ...
