A very quick introduction on synthesizing drums with the ES2. This video just shows you how to make a simple tuned tom-tom drum, but you could apply it to making kicks, or even snares by adding a noise generator.
As ever, comment etc. if you like it, and if you have any questions for synthesis tutorials, message me. All my videos are licensed under Creative Commons Share alike 2.0.

Ah, I googled a bit, and found that there's already such a preset in ES2 under "12 Tutorial Settings > FM Start". Maybe you could mention that in upcoming tutorials. :-)

Hey mate, I'd like to follow your tutorial, but I couldn't "reset" ES2 to a simple plain sine wave, how did you do that? Thanks for your effort. :-)

Excellent tip - sometimes what puts people off programming these synths is the overbearing preset they often start with. Once you strip everything back and start from scratch, it's easier to approach and learn things one by one. I found this with my Korg Radias hardware synth, and equally with the ES2 (which is quite a decent synth when you get into it)

@wib333 You have to make it yourself. Turn oscillators 2 and 3 off, turn all of the routers/vectors off and turn the filter off. You can basically copy the levels from the video, it's what I did :p
