@Claudioman2009 exactly what that other dude said. You don't rest your weight on your foot, you rest it on your knee, which should be on the very front of the seat. It gives you more weight farther forwards on the bike than if you were standing on the pegs. Also, as he also said, it makes it far easier to bail out on

@Claudioman2009 So you can get off the bike to prevent it from landing on your head when youre climbing steep slopes like this. one of your legs being on your rack doesnt really put to much of your weight to the back of the bike when youre sitting like that you can put alot of weight toward the front easily and compfortably, and youre taller that way, so if you start to go back , you can put more weight ont he front of the bike than youd be able to sitting down.
