Here is a video on how I made the Red Pyramid Head costume. This is one of the many ways to make it and it worked well for me. I wanted to show others a different way to go about. I used DOW Blue Protection foam board to build the head. So basically it is a 1/4" styro foam board that makes up the head.

I choose tho use the Blue foam mainly because of the ease of use. It is very forgiving and you can get away with a lot. You can clean up many flaws using foam simply by sanding it down. I like the foam also because you can make parts and shape it to what you want it to look like. Sometimes you can use things laying around the house but if not foam is a good way to make that part as I show in video.

I tried the cardboard before couple of years ago for my sons Transformers Costume and it was a real pain to use I thought. To me at least others may like the cardboard better. I found the foam to build much faster myself. Also I use this for everything I build ranging from costumes to RC airplanes so have gotten pretty comfortable use this. Also I feel that it will last longer is stored in an area where it wont get damaged.

In this video I show how I made the head and the parts on it. I explain how I went about the painting and making of some of the parts I used. It was very easy to make and hopefully others can use this to make theirs as well. This is a 2 part video in which I explain the head piece.

COMING SOON:
I will be posting how I made the bottom part of the outfit along with the Sword. Also How I made the shoes to give the extra height to make the costume taller. Stay Tuned..

  • how much for it ($)?

  • @adrianreborn Hey if you check out the video I do have a step by step how to make it from start to finish. The link is in the info section. Then new one looks much better scale wise and detail

  • How do you make the foam appear so smooth? Did you sand it with sand paper? And by the way, your helmet looks absolutely amazing! I can see how much effort you put into this! Thanks for your help. :)

  • @APK1909 Hi thank you for the kind comment. As for the smoothness I did sand it. When sanding careful not to chip away the foam. It sands better in certain directions. You can tell when the foam starts to sand differently. Thanks for watching!
