Do you realize that you can earn $45 per hour in Korea just speaking english? Teaching Koreans English is a very lucrative career. As a student on vacation or a tourist, you can immediately get work teaching korean just be being white and sitting in a Korean coffee shop close to any university. It's really that simple.

  • first, i live in Korea and i am teaching english. a high school student couldn't come here and teach english for $45/hr. to get a legit job, you need at least a bachelor's. it's not that easy that you just show up and 'bam' people throw $45 at you to teach them. but, it is fun to learn Korean and communicate with the people and see their reactions when you say the simplest thing in their language. if you come here, you should learn their language at least a little.

  • @lelafuselieer I understand your concern and sympathize, but let's face facts would you prefer to learn Chinese Mandarin or Cantonese by native Chinese person or a Latino guy that is "very, very good"? Or Swahili from a native African speaker (black) or an Arab teacher from University? Those are common feelings on both sides of situation.

  • soon this mad influx of English teachers will be finished, right? I mean, the younger Korean kids that are being taught English now will eventually be grown up and fluent enough to teach it themselves. There are already alot of highly skilled English-speaking Koreans!

  • @maxpower7g actually you don't need a bachelor's degree. I have several friends and family members that have taught english in korea with less post secondary education than a bachelor's and they made great money!

  • do you eat dog?

  • dude, you are cute

  • Haha dude your site is bullshit.

  • @lelafuselieer It's unfortunate, but it is because of the image. Sure, someone of another race could teach english as well as a white person, but because english is a language mostly spoken by whites, institutions in other countries usually prefer to hire native speakers of english from the UK or USA. So when you have a white person from those countries, it justs looks more legitimate. It's a shame, really, but that's just how it is.

  • @maxpower7g I agree 100%. Visa regulations require foreigners to have a degree. It's certainly not for high school students. Furthermore, you don't need to know ANY Korean to be able to work here. But to enjoy the culture, I do suggest learning the language. It's a long process however.

  • I would love to teach in Korea one day, that would be like a dream come true. I hope i'm smart enough to learn the language :)
