Only officers were allowed to photograph the artwork found stored at Wolfsburg Castle (presently called Schloss Neumühle). If I have mislabeled any of the Military Brass please tell me.

@HistorikerPS My husband wrote to the museum and we received a response that some of their artwork was indeed sent to Schloss Neumuhle. I will post there response (in German) soon. We have also contacted other art experts on this matter. Also, I would think you would agree that the provenance (chain of ownership) on works of art in Germany and in Europe as a whole were unclear at that time.
Count Günther was against Hitler and the NS-authorities. So, the great collection of paintings were not from jewish or other persons and they were not stolen!
These collection was the "Bremer Kunsthalle" taken away from the city Bremen in savety to Schloss Neumühle.
It is the great merit to the US-officers, that they secure the pictures.
Later the russan army took away all pictures, furnitures, statues of the family count von der Schulenburg-Wolfsburg from Neumühle.
