State lawmakers in California are moving a bill through their committees to allow warrantless searches of companies that press copies of compact discs and DVD's. And it's being backed by both the recording industry and the motion picture association. But aren't there other ways to combat piracy, other than stripping away our constitutional rights? Cato's Julian Sanchez explains

  • It's stuff like this that makes most people think the pirates have the moral high ground against the RIAA.

  • @RIAAInformant FUCK YOU! Seriusley, FUCK YOU!

  • @RIAAInformant Instead of sueing individuals they have no information on or stripping people of their constitutional rights, RIAA should pursue illegal file-sharing sites' hosters (the ones that are either made for illegal file-sharing or allow it) and check the anti-piracy measures of sites with a large amount of traffic.

  • @RIAAInformant Threats on YouTube shouldn't be taken so seriously as in 99.9% of the time, they are intendeded to scare the one they are directed to. Though, I agree that RIAA's methods of combatting piracy are a too much. For a fact, the enrages these methods create only lead to people pirating even more products as a response.

  • oh no! die RIAA just die now... HELP GOD!!!!!!!

  • They want people to back to CD's and DVD's so that the music and movie industry can fell good again making money? LOL!!! "NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!!!"

  • RIAA sucks nuts.

  • Obama, FBI, RIAA.... All must die!

  • @RIAAInformant Fuck you. Free speech, bitch.
