Ran this today after a few modifications. Ran real nice, at the Camerillo Airport in Ca. This should be putting out over 100 lbs of force.

  • No fuel pump. The propane is already pressurized. It wants a lot, more than a barbeque bottle can deliver.

  • Perfectly tuned!

  • It should work much better once I make a better injector.

  • Hi htannberg. Are you going to propell anything with this nice pulse engine??

  • I would like to one day put it on a go-kart.

  • nice metroliner in the back

  • nice work! I have smaller pulsejet and a little different type (chinese) . but my friend has very similar to yours.

  • @FliegenCockatiel

However, valved pulsejet has better efficiency by higher compression ratio.

It is the reflecting pulse (part of outgoing shockwave is reflected back to combustion chamber) that makes the compression - in valveless pulse jet some of this pressure is wasted out through intake tube causing lower compression for air/fuel mixture before ignition. Thus, causing lower fuel economics.

  • bet it hardly breaks 25lbs

  • @htannberg well they were valved and the reason the did not go far or fly long is they had 150 gall. of fuel and they got 1 gall per mile so there max range was 150 miles going at 400mph they had a adv. flight time of 22 min. not that the valves stopped working they ran out of fuel and fell

  • @merlin905 wrong not v2 it was the v1 buzz bomb it sounded like it buzzed as it went over because if was a valveless pulse jet but a bit higher quality than the one in this vid no offense its a great homemade one but the Germans had rocket scientists and lots of funding more then 50 bucks in tubing and propane no offense intended the v2 was a liquid fueled rocket using a 75% ethanol/water mixture for fuel and liquid oxygen (LOX) for oxidizer

  • @merlin905 it was the v1 rocket
