Guilty verdict in 'honor' murders

The parents of four Canadian women found dead in a drowning were found guilty of murdering their daughters.

@hajqbvii I think it is religious as well as cultural. The head male figure in any human organization under Islam is the absolute boss and those human organizations include Muslim families like the one in the video. If those young women were told by the father to stop whoring and I use the word as he apparently used the word and they didn't, he had a right under Islamic law to kill them. That's why honor killings are legal in Muslim nations like Turkey and Jordan and all too common.

@hajqbvii It is probably both Islamic teachings and cultural. They are intertwined. In this case, no doubt there is some mental illness involved as well, but it is a fact that in many societies not just Islamic societies BTW women are property of either their fathers or their husbands. And as property, they can be legally disposed of should the husband or father see fit to do so. Women as human beings equal to men is a Western concept.

@hajqbvii I'm not defending murder. I'm defending freedom of religion and the right under Islam of a father to lead his family as he sees fit. Under Sharia Law, this father's actions were entirely legal. You Islamophobes need to get educated.
