Patricia Cardona plays The Carnival of Venice, Op. 78 by Guillio Briccialdi at the 2008 Salem Pops Scholarship Competition accompanied by Doris Vandekoppel. Patricia is currently a student of Sandy Duffy Norman and is a senior at North Salem High. Yes, she received a scholarship from the POPs. THANK YOU SALEM POPs.

  • That's not the arrangement I'm used to hearing...

It was a little on the quick side for that song, which I actually think it sounds good just a smidddge slower. Not a lot though because that would defeat the point. Otherwise, that sounded nice!

  • @BOOMPOWbethany

There are many versions for flute and other instruments too. Listen to Galway, he does this version a little faster but I felt this was more musical. Thank you for watching.

  • beautifullllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • Thank you :)

  • Wow! I should certainly HOPE you got that scholarship, because if you didn't get it with this, I was going to have to move to another planet! What a talent! I hope you go as far as you want with your playing. You play beautifully, m'dear.

  • Thanks...came in second to a pianist....but did a scholarship.

  • @PHONE275 it is!!! :)

  • this was a good reference foe the solo i have to do for the solo festival and it gave me an idea of how it will sound if i play it right. though the one i play is a smidge slower

  • Great performance ...what make of flute are you playing?

  • oh waht a joy !!!!

  • existen muchas versiones del carnaval de Venecia, esta en particular del gran artífice y maestro de la flauta, Briccialdi; es excelente por que muestra muchas de las bondades de este extraordinario instrumento.

  • @PercyJHarryPfan You have to take into consideration how tall she is. Some music stands simply do not go high enough to adequately make it possible to not lean forward a little bit.

  • THAT WAS FREAKING AMAZEBALLS

im actually thinking about playing this for an audition so this is a good reference to listen to.

    but that was very beautiful!

  • whoa
