My First Natural Hair Journey
The video charts my first natural hair journey from June 2007 - Jun 2009
(I *foolishly* relaxed after being natural for two years in July 2009, I immediately hated the experience and outcome and BC'd a few months later (approx Sept 2009). I wore my hair short and texturised up until April 2010 when I stopped texturising and cutting my hair and started my second natural hair journey!

Don't quote me but it's supposed to be a cleansing treatment, I enjoyed the results as it defined my hair pattern but I only tried it a few times so can't really comment on the long term effects. I've heard some naturals say using it is a bad idea due to it's pH but I'm yet to do my own research into it.

did the colour damage ur hair? why won't u dye ur hair anymore?

I actually don't know if my hair quality was compromised because I can't remember how my hair used to "feel". The main reason I stopped colouring my hair was because I was becoming a slave to the colouring process in the same way I was a slave to the relaxer. Meaning that as soon as my roots appeared I ran to the store and let chemicals marinate on my hair and scalp every 6-8 weeks. So for me it was counter-productive to my "natural" journey plus it altered my hair texture.

I love receiving comment like this... being patient is one of the hardest parts of the journey... glad this lil old vid helps... I'm here on YT to pay it forward... fotki and youtube inspired me to go natural... so as far as I'm concerned I owe the wonderful online natural hair community!
