@REALwoombath None that I know of. Certainly when I first heard the beginning of the Blue Cheer version, I thought it was JImi Hendrix. I was astounded to realize it was a band called Blue Cheer doing an Acid Rock version of the Summertime Blues. Quite appropriate 'though, as Eddie Cochran was a big influence on Jimi.
Apparently Blue Cheer was a form of LSD. Note that Rush here replaces the adult response vocal lines with instrumental response lines, just like Blue Cheer. :)

@AjaxEddiefan Ok, but are there any other (0:21 - 0:23) songs with that 4 powerchords? (No Blue Cheer)
-
@REALwoombath Exactly dude...the riffs from 0:16 to 0:27 are how Blue Cheer begin their cover of the Summertime Blues!!! :)
-
@AjaxEddiefan No, I mean from 0:16 to 0:27. And yep I know it is cover.
-
@REALwoombath Yes....Rush is paying tribute to Blue Cheer's seminal cover of the Summertime Blues.

It's great!

hmm, what's a great roots-rock rebel rockabilly anthem we can bastardize water down and turn into a limp wristed, canadian prog wankfest? oh I know, Summertime Blues. Fuck Rush.
Jesus listens to Rush.

instrumental is great, but vocals should have been stronger, like it's missing Boss voice "No dice son you gotta worka late" and etc.
Great cover but i preffer Eddies and Who's, becouse in Summertime blues vocals are most important part
