Well, what can one say about such a game?

There was only one excuse of the dreadful Faroese performance - however, it was a real one. The home players were not used to perform on a wet grass field, as almost all the national league matches were then played on artificial plastic pitches only.

Another excuse was. of course, the quality of their opponents, half of the team of those were players of world class.

This is to date the only game, where the Faroes conceded eight goals, which is the maximal number ever - a reasonable achivement, considering how small the country really is.

  • We and faroes became close friends. From 1992 to this time in qualification stages for euro or world cup we always have each other in the same group. Funny isn't it?
