The guitar was run straight into a mesa boogie mark 3 and carvin legacy cab. No effects, no reverb.

  • Wheres the melody? it all sounds like some long non-sensecal "scale"

  • well i wasn't trying to be musical. I wanted to do a clip that would let people hear what the pickups sounded like. These pickups are very clear and dont mud up even when playing faster stuff. my myspace page is steppingintotheglassprison

I dont have a lot of cool recording gear, and i am not a great song writer but there is some melodic stuff for you.

  • Dude, you are so fucking good, clean shredding! I like the switch you made to Dimarzio too, you did an interesting modification.

  • thanks, i have really always played Dimarzios. I tried two 85s in my razorback and had the 81 and 89 in my jem copy but i have always gone back to Dimarzios.

  • You have to tell us man . . . what stripe!? I'm guessing not black dot or not purple. Maybe red?

  • nope it is a black stripe. It was modded to have master volume installed on the second "marshall" channle. I called boogie and they said it was an 83 or 84 if i remember right. They said they did the mod themselves, i didn't ask if anything else was done to it. When i recived the amp it had 4 el34s. It is simul-class so i have the 6l6s and 34s in it. The clip was done in 100 watt mode with both sets of tubes mixed. If you want crunch go with the 34s they are brutal in the MKIIIs

  • @jarledge Thanks for posting the vid. So, the HFH doesn't mud up or sound tubby? I have a PAF PRO in the neck pos that sounds like ass for anyhting other than single notes. Seems like the HFH might be what I'm looking for.

  • That pinched harmonic at 0:40 sounds sick. Seems like you don't need active pickups to get Zakk Wylde's harmonics. Are you using some overdrive pedals or just the distortion from the amp ?

  • Do It Again I Blinked!!!!

    ROCK ON!!!!

  • i like the liquifire from the neck it sounds so smooth.

  • hey nice playing bro.... btw..... my guitar dont have flyod rose... but got humbuker.... can rite????? coz.... majority use these pick up with flyod rose guitar...... so can i use these pick ups on my non floyd rose guitar????

  • @LGrey8 I wouldnt call tone zone super hight output, a dimarzio dactivator is super high output. tone zone powerchords just sound so huge, really good pickup for metal like opeth, tool imo, at least compared to a dactivator which is a great pickup also

  • The Humbucker from hell and the Tone Zone are totally different beasts.

The HOH is a low output, spanky, tight, and bright pup with tones of treble.

The Tone Zone is a super high output, muddy, fat, super mid-heavy pickup.

Weird to be considering one or the other, which sound do you want?

  • we came across a old charvel with a humbucker from hell in the bridge lol it actually doesnt sound horrible but im gonna put some emg's in it =p

  • Humber from hell owns I totoaly want ti I also was considering the Tone zone but I'm gonna research that more before I decide
