The only cover of this sing that's good ^^

@SnareSpectre i hated his earlier mixes, but now they are pretty tight.

@SnareSpectre your drum sound is more appropriate for covers than Cobus' sound.

although I am guitarist, I sometimes love seeing drummers play, especially on great songs like this one from Alter Bridge. Dude, I really appreciate your playing, you rock ! :-)

I've learned so much from your channel on how to mix drums. Last september or so. Still working on getting it tighter. Did you change any of your settings from your original video. I just can't get the sound as tight as yours. Im using reaper for post mixing cad mics and a zoom r16 mixer.

Which "original video" are you referring to? I'm constantly changing the settings to get my mix to sound the best possible within the context of doing drum covers, and this particular song is the best I've done so far, in my opinion.

i dont play along to music much since i dont really have a good stereo or headset what do you recommend to use to hear the music clearly without it getting drowned out?

I would HIGHLY recommend my current setup - I use KOSS Sparkplug headphones (they're on Amazon now for $12.99), then the ear muffs that you see in the video on top of those (like you would wear to a firing range). I think they were about $14.
The Sparkplugs have foam on the end that you squeeze into your ear, so that blocks out sound - then the ear muffs on top of that REALLY reduce sound. I'm listening to the music at a volume I'd normally use for any setting, not just drumming.
