@Xiber1 It isn't about speed in a classic Mercedes. I own a '77 280SE (2.8L Straight-Six 185BHP), and speed is the last thing I want from it.

@MultiYippee That's why I said 'On Days like these' To suggest it would work in the video

how was the power at high altitudes? I have a 240D and was thinking of taking it into the Rocky Mountains, specifically Rocky Mountain National Park. (14k feet elev) I'm not sure if it will make it.

I haven't been that high. The highest pass road in Europe is at 2800 meter (9200 ft), but my 200D (60 HP) managed that. The engine did run a bit funny. At 14,000 ft you lose about 40% of your power, so you're left with about 43 HP, that should be enough, but don't expect to go fast (you probably have to drive in first gear and very slowly).
You can slightly increase the valve clearance of the intake valves (from 0.10 mm to 0.15 mm) to increase the stroke and compress more air.

And you might want to ask your question on an American forum, (Benzworld for instance), there must be more people who tried to climb the Rockies in a 240D.
