South Vietnam was not defeated by VC gurillias but by NVA conventional forces. In 1972 8,000 arvin held off 28,000 NVA at An Loc, The Arvin when properly lead were brave men who loved there country verry much. In 1975 The russians were still pooring tanks and other supplies into NVA hands The US congress turned off the supply of war material to Arvin Who lost because they didnt have the supplies to continue resisting.

The US consentrated fighting the war instead of Helping the South Vietnammesse to build a political ideology that The peole saw as a non comunist nationalist government. There were some good south veitnamesse military leaders col chou for example but thouse men were often not given command to lead appoionments were made based on individual loyalty rather than joining together to do what was best for south veitnam. The people of the south sufferred greatly under the communist.

@XvChriisvX Yeh its alright i have my share of stupid comments too. China basically invaded them after supplying them lol. Funny thing is when we fought the North Vietnamese they were battle hardened and well experienced from the Indochinese war with France that lasted about 7 years or so. So our 17/18 year old kids were going up against battle hardened vets. Then when China fought them they were even more experienced lol. China was screwed from the start.

@XvChriisvX We did actually lose, we set out to stop the North Vietnamese from invading Saigon and taking total control of Vietnam. They did as we withdrew in 1974. We lost, and they won. Dont get so uptight about it.

I can't understand how stupid Americans were cuz they had their covert ops since 1945 and already knew the situation in Vietnam and knew about counterinsurgency. SEAL's practiced guerilla warfare but Special Forces and the conventional forces did not work well together. The soldiers, weapons, tactics and commanders that were first sent to Vietnam were trained to fight the Soviets in a European theater. Even the F-4 Phantom had no guns. Yup, they did everything wrong
