Ook de effecten van de recente orkaan op het socialistische land waren besproken. De Communistische Partij Nederland (NCPN) maakte bekend de start van een project om bouwvakkers te sturen naar Cuba om te helpen met de heropbouw.

"De Cubaanse ambassadeur vertelde over de vooruitgang in het dagelijkse leven van Cuba".

Tja, maar niet dankzij het ondeugdelijk gebleken communistische systeem, maar dankzij het enorm toegenomen toerisme, waaruit ongeveer de helft van de deviezen-inkomsten voor Cuba voortvloeien!

Maar natuurlijk hadden die vijf ten onrechte opgesloten Cubanen in de VS al lang vrijgelaten moeten worden.

Nou in werkelijkheid wordt er een heel onjuist beeld gecreëerd door kapitalistische machthebbers over Cuba en haar geschiedenis. De tekorten kwamen pas nadat het oostblok uit elkaar viel en de economische boycot nog steeds van kracht was (is). Daardoor verloor Cuba veel handelspartners die nu de VS boycot opvolgde. Toch heeft Cuba zich staand kunnen houden en meeste basisvoorzieningen kunnen verzekeren voor de burgers. Onderdak, onderwijs, voedsel en gezondheidszorg. Compleet alleen note bene!
