Virtua Striker 2 - Attract Mode

The fabulous intro of one of the greatest soccer games of all time, Virtua Striker 2.

This game runs on the SEGA Model 3 board, Step 1.5 and Step 2.0.

Released in 1997, the game adds a lot of improvements: new graphics, new CPU AI (especially for the goalkeeper), and a much more realistic control, which makes the players move around the field like real ones do.

There are also new features: the scenario changes from day to night depending on the real time, new stadiums were added, seven new teams were added (Belgium, Croatia, Russia, Uruguay, Portugal, Greece and Yugoslavia), and, for the first time, the Best Goal system was introduced (the more spectacular is an action leading to a goal, the more points you get for it).

NOTE: video taken from MAME ver. 0.119. This game is emulated with missing sound, so I added it myself.

i tried running it on MAME 0.119, but it doesn't work? I can't even launch the program.. any help mate?

@arpeggifany what do you mean with, "I can't even launch the program.."? did you check your romset and are you sure yours is the correct one for that version of MAME?

@ItalianLightning03 thanks for your reply. I tried launching the game, but the game doesn't even load, and it stays on the black screen.

How do i check my romset to see if its compatible with the version of MAME i am using? Kindly enlighten me, thanks.

@ItalianLightning03 well supermodel dont runs vs2 at fullspeed dont matter which cpu you have due to emulation problems

anyway its great to see someone uploading vs2 arcade videos, this is the first one showing the entire intro of this classic!

@karadanianoI i don't know, VS2 actually is in an early stage of emulation. if you want to try it on a pc like that, then i suggest you to try Supermodel Emulator instead of MAME (unless you want to use MAME 0.119 or earlier versions). Try both of them and let me know! :)
