A Convair crew loads a 43,000 lb. T-12 "Grand Slam" type bomb shape into the front bomb bay of a B-36B, followed by a brief glimpse of the shape being dropped into an ocean bombing range.

  • The RAF used a Lancaster to drop these bombs during WW2 - just as effective and it only had 4 engines/

  • Bomb bay doors was removed?

  • Too bad they didn't keep those in stock- or something with a modern chemical explosive mix of the same size. We'd use a few of those to take care of Iran's nuclear power plants without splitting an atom.
