i stayed there for a week while backpacking, alone in southern florida. as a canadian, it was still a bit of a culture shock. it isn't "that bad" i suppose, but some areas of the city are almost like walking into a developing country and you can feel the poverty. the whole region is a beautiful place, but you gotta be ready for loud, heavy culture (unless youre going to disneyworld). glad i didnt walk into other hoods people are talking about.
