Србија је континентална држава која се налази у југоисточној Европи (на Балканском полуострву) и у средњој Европи (Панонској низији).У саставу Републике Србије су и две аутономне покрајине Војводина и Косово и Метохија. Република Србија је дефинисана као демократска држава српског народа и свих других грађана који у њој живе, заснована на демократским начелима, тржишној привреди, поштовању људских права и владавини права. Србија се на северу граничи са Мађарском, на истоку са Румунијом и Бугарском, на југу са Републиком Македонијом и Албанијом, а на западу са Црном Гором, Хрватском и Босном и Херцеговином. Од 2006. године је Србија као наследница СЦГ постала суверена и независна држава.Главни град је Београд.

The country's capital, Belgrade, was titled "City of the Future of South Europe" in 2006. Although landlocked, Serbia boasts 2,000 km of navigable waterways on the Danube, Sava, Tisza and their respective canals. For centuries, located at, and shaped by, the cultural boundaries between the East and the West, a powerful medieval kingdom later renamed the Serbian Empire occupied much of the Balkans.The current borders of the country were established after World War II.


Serbien ist ein Binnenstaat in Südosteuropa. Die offizielle Bezeichnung lautet Republik Serbien. Serbien liegt im Zentrum der Balkanhalbinsel und grenzt im Norden an Ungarn, im Osten an Rumänien und Bulgarien, im Süden an Mazedonien und (über das völkerrechtlich umstrittene Kosovo) an Albanien, im Südwesten an Montenegro und im Westen an Bosnien und Herzegowina und Kroatien.
