  • I don't recognize the principal oboist. Is he new?

  • @TheVrajr It is Jonathan Kelly, principal oboe since 2003.

  • the Berlin Philharmonic rules

  • Anyone else remember when the BBC made three wildlife films about a buzzard, a fox and I believe a deer? (in the mid-eighties) In the 'Mordicus the Buzzard' film this piece of music featured in parts throughout the video. It kind of left an indelible memory because the music fitted the sentiment of the film perfectly.

  • @noirvalentin Absolutely without any doubt. And to think that a performance of this masterpiece was the first ever classical music concert I attended as a 12 year old child as a treat from my dad. What a dream introduction. I had tears in my eyes at the end. Thanks dad! You're the best!! :-)

  • MY GOD! WHAT A MASTERPIECE! Long live Sibelius' music, and BPO!

  • Everybody seems to be excited about the 3/4 horns theme(which I love too) but honestly the opening tremolando theme is so beautiful too! It just won't get out of my head!

  • The Timpanist is a resemblance of Sibelius himself. Lol....!! :)))

  • @noirvalentin you're right !

  • @noirvalentin I agree 100%

  • i have the complete but not the video but it seems the same arrangement and I have to say that Sir Simon Ratlle's performance always looks awesome, full of sense!!!!

  • NOOO VIDEO DON'T ENDDDDD.....
